The Matrix Reloaded - 2003-06-07 13:30:11
This, was a damn fine film.
Like the first one, only with less of the stupid pretend baby philosophy and much, much more of the violence. And some sex thrown in.
The wire work is spectacular, the special effects are wonderful, the action sequences are smashing. To balance it out the dialog is bloody awful in parts, and mediocre in the rest.
It will probably inspire just as many water cooler theories as the first, though this time there's only months (rather than years) to wait until they are hopefully resolved.
Of course it needs to be asked again. Just why did they use Keanu Reeves as Neo, instead of Jet Li who does a far better fight scene? Or Chow Yun Fat who does the whole gun thing so well, and actually has some screen presence.
